All Stakes Pick-4 With Saratoga & Del Mar Races Set For Pacific Classic Day This Saturday, August 19th

Saturday August 19th is another great day for horseplayers especially at Saratoga and Del Mar. Saratoga will host the $600,000 Alabama Stakes (Gr. I) and the $300,000 Lake Placid Stakes (Gr. 2) while Del Mar has their biggest card of the year, highlighted by the $1 Million Pacific Classic (Gr. I). Arrogate, Bob Baffert’s #1 ranked horse, will compete in the Classic. Also on tap is the $300,000 Del Mar Oaks (Gr. I) and the $250,000 Del Mar Handicap (Gr. 2). An All-Stakes Pick-4 was announced this week that combines four of these stakes! Saratoga’s first post is at 1 PM and Del Mar’s is at 5 PM (EDT). Note the Pacific Classic is Race 8 and is scheduled for 8:30 PM. 

For harness players, Tioga Downs has a monster card this Sunday afternoon (August 20) highlighted by a pair of $250,000 Empire Breeders Classic Pacing Finals — one for 3 year old colts/geldings and another for fillies. They have a stellar under card which includes a $175,000 3 year & up open pace.

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) announced today an “All-Stakes Pick 4” with a partnership between Saratoga Race Course and Del Mar Racetrack on both Saturday, August 19 and Saturday, September 2.

The August 19 Saratoga/Del Mar Pick 4 will include the Grade 2 Lake Placid, run as Race 8 with an approximate post time of 4:49 p.m., and the 136th running of the Grade 1, $600,000 Alabama at Saratoga, Race 9 on the card. It will be followed by the Grade 1, $1 million TVG Pacific Classic at Del Mar, featuring Arrogate, the 2016 Travers winner and currently top ranked horse by NTRA. The All-Stakes Pick 4 concludes with the Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks.

The September 2 Saratoga/Del Mar “All-Stakes Pick 4” begins with the Grade 1, $350,000 Spinaway and is followed by the 64th running of the Grade 1, $750,000 Woodward, presented by NYRA Bets, at Saratoga. The Grade 2 John C. Mabee and Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante follow at Del Mar.
