The Virginia Equine Alliance (VEA) has announced an official “soft” opening date for the second Richmond area Off Track Betting (OTB) Center, located at Ponies & Pints in Shockoe Bottom!
Join us next Wednesday, January 11th at 110 N. 18th Street in the former Tiki Bob’s Cantina building. Racing action from 14 tracks will be available that day including Monticello, Gulfstream, Tampa Bay Downs, Mahoning Valley, The Meadows, Turf Paradise, Dover Downs, Buffalo Raceway, Penn National, Turfway Park, Western Fair, Delta Downs, Charles Town and Pompano Park.
A grand opening will take place on Saturday January 28th to coincide with the simulcast of the $12 million Pegasus World Cup from Gulfstream Park.
Wagering will be available 7 days and evenings per week from 12 Noon – 11 PM. The restaurant/bar itself will open daily at 11 AM and stay open later after betting ends. Ponies & Pints is a non-smoking facility but there is a nice fenced in patio area where smokers can go. When the weather is nicer, the patio bar will be open and a self betting machine will be in service there. The bar itself will feature 60 beers on tap and the restaurant will offer full service dining.
The Alliance’s first OTB opened November 2nd inside Breakers Sports Grille in Richmond’s west end. That site, located in the TJ Maxx Shopping Center at 9127 W. Broad Street, continues to operate 7 days a week from 12 Noon – 11 PM.
