Virginia Connected Horses Set To Compete On Belmont Under Card

Happy Belmont Day! Hope everyone has a great afternoon enjoying 6 Grade I stakes including the big race at 6:37 PM. There are several Virginia bred and raised horses to cheer on today at Belmont.

Sadler’s Joy, bred by Rene & Lauren Woolcott and raised at their farm in The Plains, is entered in the $1 Million Manhattan Stakes (Race 10, 5:37 PM). The 4 year old gelding is fresh off a third in the Man o’ War Stakes and a victory in the Pan American Stakes. He has earned $197,480 this year and $342,968 in his career.

Realm (shown here), a 4 year Baclay Tagg trainee, is one of two Virginia-breds competing in allowance races on the Belmont under card. He is in the $96,000 13th race — last one on the program — while Lenstar, a 3 year old Nick Zito trainee, is in the $90,000 first race at 11:35 AM.
