15 Harness Races Slated For Shenandoah Downs Opener This Saturday In Woodstock

Saturday’s season opener at Shenandoah Downs features 15 harness races — 12 on the card as betting events and 3 off the card as non-bettors. Post time is 1 PM.

There is a four pack of Virginia Breeders’ Championships for two years olds scheduled. The $40,000 2 Year Old Colt/Gelding Pace closes out the pari-mutuel card while the other trio of $40,000 Breeder’s stakes are non-bettors.

Chuck Perry’s John’s Dream (shown here), who captured the Breeder’s 3 Year Old Colt/Gelding Pace a year ago in a stunning 1:52 1/5, returns Saturday to compete in a $7,000 Open Handicap. The now 4 year old Dream Away gelding has earned $215,480. Hope to see lots of race fans Saturday in Woodstock!
