Bridles & Boots Fundraiser Set For May 18th At Dream Catchers In Toano

WILLIAMSBURG, Virginia – It’s that time of year to leave the wingtips and heels in the closet, don boots and head for a special evening of fun at Dream Catchers at the Cori Sikich Therapeutic Riding Center. The nonprofit’s 2019 Bridles & Boots is being held Saturday, May 18, beginning at 5 p.m. at Dream Catchers in Toano.

Spain Commercial Inc. returns as Title Sponsor. Accustomed to changing peoples’ lives with new medical facilities, churches and offices, the Yorktown-based general contractor is pleased to donate $10,000 for Dream Catchers to provide life-changing equine-assisted programs for those in-need.

TowneBank, also continues its steadfast commitment for the sixth year by donating $5,000 as the Auction Sponsor. Also returning is David A. Nice Builders, Inc. as the $5,000 Video Sponsor. New this year, Colonial Downs signed on as the $5,000 Student Spotlight Sponsor.

Event co-chairs Tom Miller, MD, board president, and Steve Cummings, MD, board member, and the rest of the Dream Catchers staff and volunteers promise an evening worthy of the legacy Bridles & Boots has on the Williamsburg social calendar.

The evening kicks off with a champagne and cocktail reception including five student spotlights, barn tours, and a special showing of The Preakness on jumbo screens. Attendees will then enjoy an elegant seated buffet dinner by The Catering Company and the event’s signature live auction. Ernie Rogers with Black Tie Benefit Auctions will be the auctioneer for the evening. Guests will have a chance to bid on exciting dining, wine and vacation packages including:

  • an exclusive getaway to Nisbet Plantation Beach Club on Nevis, one of the Caribbean’s most-awarded resorts,
  • a Tennessee whiskey adventure including airfare,
  • a dinner for six with wine pairings at Richmond’s famous Lemaire restaurant at The Jefferson Hotel
  • a Chef’s Tasting Menu for six with wine pairings at Fat Canary, named one of the Top 100 Restaurants for Foodies in America, and
  • a Horse Lovers Dream Vacation to Rancho Las Cascadas, Mexico.

Bridles & Boots is the biggest annual fundraiser for Dream Catchers. Proceeds support the mission of the non-profit organization that provides 80 to 100 life-changing therapeutic riding lessons and other equine-assisted activities and therapies each week to children and adults with special needs. Program participants are from throughout Hampton Roads and Richmond and have one or more of 150 conditions including autism, cerebral palsy, stroke, trauma and developmental delays.

Bridles & Boots sells out every year. Tickets are still available for $100 each along with sponsorship opportunities.
