Rappahannock Point-to-Point Photos; Virginia’s Spring Racing Season Gets Underway

Virginia’s 2022 spring racing season kicked of March 5th with the Rappahannock Hunt Point-to-Point meet at The Hill in Boston, VA!. A total of 7 races were contested and thanks to photographer Douglas Lees, pictures of all races/winner are shown below.

The Point-to-Point (PTP) season continues with the Warrenton Hunt PTP March 19 at the Airlee Race Course, the Piedmont Fox Hounds PTP March 26 at the Salem Course in Upperville, the Orange County PTP April 3 at the Locust Hill Farm in Middleburg, the Old Dominion Hounds PTP April 9 at the Ben Venue Farm in Ben Venue, the Blue Ridge PTP April 17 at the Woodley Farm in Berryville, the Loudoun Hunt PTP April 24 at Morven Park in Leesburg and the Middleburg Hunt PTP May 1 at Glenwood Park.

The National Steeplechase Association sanctioned meet schedule includes the Middleburg Spring Races April 23 at Glenwood Park, the Foxfield Spring Races in Charlottesville April 30 and the Virginia Gold Cup pari-mutuel slate of action May 7 at Great Meadow in The Plains. In the Rappahannock Open Timber, Fletched (right) edged Bet The Pot (#2). The winning rider was Elizabeth Scully while runner-up was Graham Watters.
Diva of Seville and Elizabeth Scully prevailed in the Maiden Flat in beating Criticize.
