The Virginia Thoroughbred Association and the Virginia HBPA announced the following Virgnia-Bred/Sired/Certified racing schedule for 2018. A new $20,000 series bonus has been added for both trainers and owners. $10,000 will be awarded to the leading point earning trainer and owner throughout the series, $4,000 for second, $3,000 for third, $2,000 for fourth and $1,000 for fifth. Points will be earned as follows: 5 points for winning any race, 4 points for second, 3 points for third, 2 points for 4th and 1 point to all other starters in the field. Bonus winners will be announced after the September 22nd race day.
