Over six consecutive Saturdays in February and March, racing fans will be able to participate in a series of free handicapping contests at Virginia’s Off Track Betting (OTB)Centers where $1,000 in cash prizes will be doled out at each! There are four OTBs in the state — Breakers Sports Grille is in Henrico, Ponies & Pints is in Richmond, Buckets Bar & Grill is in Chesapeake and The Windmill OTB Sports Grill is in Collinsville/Martinsville.
The contests kick off at 2 OTBs this Saturday, February 23rd — at Buckets Bar & Grill and at Ponies & Pints. Horseplayers can stop by either site (in Chesapeake or Richmond) and fill out a free contest entry between 11 AM – 3 PM.
Here’s the lineup of races for this Saturday’s contest. Players will be asked to select a horse in each of the 8 contest races, and they’ll get a mythical $2 win/place wager on each selection. Contestants that accumulate the 5 highest mythical bankrolls will share $1,000 at OTB site as follows: $500 – $250 – $125 – $75 – $50.
