New Virginia-Certified Program For Standardbreds Is Off And Running

The new Virginia-Certified Residency program for standardbreds is off and running, so to speak! Amanda Jackson’s Hillbilly Honey was among the first to officially register for the brand new $400,000 incentive program. The filly, by Don’t Loose Your Day Job out of Carlotta (shown here) is pictured June 9th at her farm in Burkeville.

Jackson’s second horse in the program is a colt names Two Large Fries, who is by Charlie De Vie out of Net Revenue.

Anne McDonald is a dentist, and her practice is in Alexandria. Her farm is in White Post, Virginia. Her first horse in the new Residency program is a filly by A Rock Roll Dance out of Hot Beach Girl.

Once horses complete a six month residency at a qualified Virginia farm or training center (before they turn two-years-old), they are eligible to begin collecting bonuses as two and three-year-olds in any overnight race in which they receive a piece of the purse.
