The “Scene” At Middleburg Spring Races From May 1; Fans & Tailgaters Return

The 101st edition of the Middleburg Spring Races took place Saturday May 1st at Glenwood Park on a picture perfect afternoon. A total of $220,000 in purse monies were distributed between eight hurdle and timber steeplechase races including the featured $75,000 Temple Gwathmey Stakes (Gr. 2).

Enthusiastic fans and tailgaters were allowed to attend, though limited in numbers compared to past events due to the Governor’s current Covid-policy related to attendance at outdoor sporting events.

Here is a look at the “scene” at Glenwood Park that day which will replicated May 29th during the Virginia Gold Cup Races at Great Meadow. Tailgating spots for that event are now on sale at vagoldcup.com.
