The 2019 Kentucky Derby my not be held until Saturday May 4th, but racing fans will have several chances earlier in the year to bet the “Run For The Roses” and possibly score higher odds on horses than on Derby Day itself.
The next Derby “Future Pool” is available at all four in-state OTBs from February 8th – 10th. A list of 23 three-year-olds involved in wagering that weekend will be released closer to the date. The 24th betting option is the “field”, which is all other three-year-olds outside of the first 23.
Derby “Future” bets can be placed at the Breakers Sports Grille OTB (Henrico), Ponies & Pints OTB (Richmond), Buckets Bar & Grill OTB (Chesapeake) and at The Windmill OTB Sports Grill (Collinsville/Martinsville).
The final Derby “Future” wager dates are March 8th – 10th, and April 5th – 7th. A Kentucky Oaks “Future” can be wagered during the March period as can a Derby-Oaks Double Future.
