Fall Harness Racing Season At Shenandoah Downs

The sixth annual fall harness racing season is set for fall, 2021 in Woodstock, Virginia at the Shenandoah County Fairgrounds. The five-week meet begins September 17 and continues through October 16 with racing every Friday at 3:30 PM and Saturday at 1 PM. After a year without spectators and wagering, the track is excited to be able to welcome both fans and wagering back in 2021.

Woodstock is located halfway between Harrisonburg and Winchester off I-81 at Exit 283. Harness racing has taken place in Woodstock for 103 years.

Harness racing has taken place in Woodstock for 102 years. Wagering is available during the fall Shenandoah Downs meet.

Pacers and trotters compete over a half mile oval in at least ten races every day. Parking and admission are free and the races are family friendly. Betting is available with tellers/bet takers or through self serve bet kiosks. The races are streamed live at www.shenandoahdowns.com. Popular promotional events at the races include Happy Hour Fridays, Wiener Dog Races, “Pink Power” Breast Cancer Awareness Day, “VHHA Own a Horse For a Day”, rides in the starter’s car, double seater rides in the sulky and lots more.
