Harness Racing at the Shenandoah County Fair

The 2022 harness racing season in Virginia kicks off with four consecutive days of racing at the Shenandoah County Fair in Woodstock!

Shenandoah Downs, which follows the Shenandoah County Fair Meet, will have an 8-week harness season in 2022).

Racing will take place Wednesday August 31 and on Thursday thru Saturday, September 1 – 3, with all cards beginning at 12 Noon. Races are free with admission to the County Fair.

Shenandoah racing fans are in for a treat as world renowned race caller Roger Huston will call the first three days of the Fair meet while Thomas Kearney — who calls the pari-mutuel meet (from September 16 – November 6) — will announce the final day’s program.

Fans attending all four days can register to “own” a horse in the VHHA’s popular and lucrative “Own a Horse for a Day” promotion.
