Kentucky Derby Day Simulcast At Virginia OTBs, Rosie’s Locations

Date: May 2, 2020
Time: 10:00 am  to  8:00 pm

Mark your calendars for the biggest annual thoroughbred racing event of the year.  Kentucky Derby Day, 2020, is Saturday May 2nd!

Did you know there are 13 different sites Virginians can bet all the Derby Day action?

Justify handled an off track well in the 2018 Kentucky Derby and went on to win the Triple Crown.

First off, there are four Rosie’s Gaming Emporiums open in the state with more on the way! They are located in New Kent (at Colonial Downs Racetrack), Richmond, Hampton and Vinton. Besides an OTB area, each Rosie’s features many Historical Horse Racing terminals.

An OTB area inside Rosie’s newest location in Hampton will feature simulcasting from up to 20 tracks on a daily basis.

There are four VA-Horseplay Off Track Betting Centers in the state as well. Breakers Sports Grille is in Henrico, Ponies & Pints is in downtown Richmond, Buckets Bar & Grill is in the Great Bridge area of Chesapeake and The Windmill OTB Sports Bar is in Collinsville, which is adjacent to Martinsville and just a short drive from Greensboro, NC. All sites have Derby parties and will serve mint juleps. Attendees are encouraged to wear fancy — or even outrageous — hats.

The Windmill OTB in Collinsville is a convenient choice for players in Greensboro. NC area.

All 70,000 spectators at the Virginia Gold Cup Races in The Plains will have a chance to bet the “Run for the Roses” as well. An afternoon of pari-mutuel steeplechase and flat racing will be followed by the Derby simulcast.

Wagering is available on site via self bet terminals and manned stations.

And Virginia residents can bet the big race on line via any of our four industry partners. Simply open a wagering account, fund it, and begin playing at TVG.com, XPressBet.com, TwinSpires.com and NYRABets.com.
