Come to the Thoroughbred Retirement Center at James River’s annual Spring Open Barn on Saturday April 13th from 10 AM – 2 PM.
Tickets for their 50/50 cash raffle on Derby Day will be available at the Open Barn. Come by and visit the horses, meet the great new Groom Elite class, and see the painted horse in the round pen! Learn about how the program helps both horses and men.
Meet Burn Up the Wire, aka “Burnie’” while you are there on Saturday. He’s 22 years old and has a wonderfully laid back personality! His racing career consisted of 17 starts: 2 wins and earnings of $11,559. “Burnie” hopes to meet many folks at the Open Barn and wants you to know he’ll be seeking a sponsor! The facility is located at the James River Work Center in Goochland County. Attendees should go to Barn 4 after entering the grounds.
