What better way to celebrate the return of thoroughbred racing to Colonial Downs than with a slate of stakes races for Virginia-Bred/Sired horses on opening weekend!
On Saturday August 10th, fans can watch and wager a four pack of $100,000 Virginia-Bred/Sired stakes including the Edward Evans, Nellie Mae Cox, Meadow Stable and M. Tyson Gilpin Stakes.
Closing day — Saturday September 7th — features a handful of $100,000 events including the Jamestown, Punch Line, Camptown, Brookmeade and Bert Allen Stakes.
Post time both days is 5 PM. Owners of horses in all these stakes will be invited to a hospitality area as a thank you for investing in and supporting Virginia horse racing!
