Attention Horsemen Shipping to Great Meadow Racecourse
Given the recent Equine Herpes Virus outbreak at PARX and other racing facilities, it is important for the Gold Cup to protect all participants from the possibility of an infected horse arriving on the premises. Therefore, all horses shipping to the Gold Cup Races at Great Meadow must have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (health certificate) dated within ten days, containing the following information: Horses have not originated from a barn with a case or suspected case of EHV; been vaccinated with an approved EHV vaccine no less than 7 days and no more than 90 days; rectal temperature taken at the time of the examination; and a Coggins test within 12 months.” The Virginia Racing Commission and Virginia Gold Cup Association thank you in advance for your cooperation!
