The Virginia Bets OTBs will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. They will reopen on Tuesday December 26th when Santa Anita has their traditional Grade I stakes event. As you’d expect, Saturday’s (December 30th) lineup is chock full of big stakes from Gulfstream, Tampa Bay, Laurel and Santa Anita.
Our newest OTB in Chesapeake, at Buckets Bar & Grill, will have a FREE Holiday Handicapping Contest on the 30th with $500 in cash prizes up for grabs. The top ‘capper will win $250. Contestants need to get their free contest entry in by 2:00 PM.
The OTB at Breakers Sports Grille in Richmond will host an identical tourney on Saturday January 13th when Fair Grounds hosts a big Derby and Oaks prep card.
On New Years Eve and New Years Day, all sites will operate with regular 11 AM – 11 PM hours with one exception: Ponies & Pints will close at 6 PM on New Years Eve for a private function.
And of course, if you can’t attend an OTB, Virginia residents can bet on line at TVG.com, XpressBet.com, TwinSpires.com and NYRABets.com.
Here’s the holiday week stakes lineup. Hope to see lots of horseplayers at Ponies & Pints and Breakers in Richmond, and at Buckets in Chesapeake. Have a healthy and safe holiday season!
