Rosie’s Colonial Downs To Open At New Kent Track April 23rd

The highly anticipated revival of horse racing in Virginia kicks off Tuesday April 23rd when the first Rosie’s Gaming Emporium will open at Colonial Downs Racetrack in New Kent.

Fans will be greeted by a completely new look entrance as they enter Colonial Downs.

A ribbon cutting is set for 10:45 AM and doors will open at 11 AM. The first 500 attendees will receive a commemorative t-shirt and anyone that signs up for a Players Card will get a $10 free play voucher.

600 Historical Horse Racing terminals will greet fans at the New Kent Rosie’s.

The facility will be open seven days and night a week. Hours are 8 AM – 2 AM Sunday thru Thursday and from 8 AM – 4 AM Friday and Saturday.

Rosie’s features four bars. There are separate smoking and non-smoking lounges on the ground floor level and another pair on the third floor.

The New Kent Rosie’s will host 600 Historical Horse Racing terminals along with live simulcast wagering from tracks around the country on the third floor.

The live simulcast area features a sharp TV signal presentation from 8 different tracks at the same time. Both tellers and self bet machines are available to place wagers.

Colonial Downs is at I-64, Exit 214 in New Kent between Richmond and Williamsburg. Live thoroughbred racing will return August 8th and continue thru September 7th. The $250,000 Virginia Derby is scheduled for Saturday August 31st.

The third foor live simulcast area provides a perfect vantage point of the turf course, which recently was set on fire in a controlled burn to remove dead cover off the grass.
