OFFICIAL STATEMENT:

Colonial Downs Group puts the health and safety of our team, partners and visitors as our top priority. We established thorough protocols prior to the 2020 racing season to address any issues that may arise from the coronavirus pandemic. An out-of-state jockey, who was at the track one week ago, has informed us that he today tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, and in an abundance of caution, Colonial Downs is cancelling racing today, August 11, and tomorrow, August 12. We are coordinating our effort with the local health department and have notified all participating parties. We are working with the Virginia Racing stakeholders on replacement dates and to determine when we can resume our normal schedule.
