Mark your calendars for the annual VTA Stallion Season Auction on February 14. Open bidding is available that day from 10 AM – 8 PM and can be made by phone at 434-977-3716— no bids will be accepted by e-mail. Final bidding will be conducted the next day, on Thursday February 15, among the top five high bidders on each season to close the auction.
Potential bidders are encouraged to pre-register and receive a bidder number prior to the start of the auction by completing and submitting an online form available at vabred.org. Note that pre-registration is optional — bidders that call in day of will receive a number at that time. .
The VTA event is an open auction and breeders from all states are welcome to bid. The resulting foals do not have to be foaled in Virginia or registered with the Virginia Breeder’s Fund. All seasons will be sold on a no-guarantee basis unless otherwise noted. Select stallion seasons may be available after the auction closes for outright purchase on a first-come, first-served basis at set prices determined by the season donor and/or the VTA Stallion Season Auction Committee beginning at 11 AM on Friday February 16.
