$320,000 Virginia Breeder’s Harness Racing Championships

Date: October 14, 2018
Time: 2:16 pm  to  5:16 pm

The annual Virginia Breeder’s Championship Day will finish out the 2018 fall racing season at Shenandoah Downs. Eight championship races, featuring both 2 and 3-year-old pacers and trotters of both sexes, will be contested for purses in the $40,000 range. This is an annual celebration of the Virginia harness industry in the Commonwealth.

Lemonaideshine is a former Virginia Breeders champion. He won the colt/gelding pacing division in 2016.

Prep races for this event will take place on Columbus Day — Monday October 8th. Both days — the prep and championship programs — will be non-betting. The last wagering program is on Saturday October 13th when the annual Autumnfest event takes place in conjunction with harness racing. Fans can enjoy a Kansas City BBQ competition with over 40 entrants (with tastings from each), over 30 craft beers to sample, live music, log splitting contests and more.
